Random UUID. Most commonly used. 122 bits of randomness.
Time-ordered (RFC 9562). Unix timestamp + random. Ideal for databases, maintains chronological order.
Timestamp-based. Contains MAC address and time. Less private but sortable.
Special UUID with all zeros. Used as placeholder or null value.
UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) is a 128-bit identifier that is unique across space and time. Used for generating unique IDs without coordination.
